Nutty banana post workout smoothie

We were lucky enough to partner with That Protein for our Winter Wellness Retreat in November! This meant we could ensure that our guests were adequately fuelled for the day with the best quality products.

That Protein offers premium organic plant protein powders. All powders are vegan, organic, cold pressed, refined sugar free, and most importantly come in a variety of tasty flavours. Our nutty banana post workout smoothie, features the ‘Nutty Nutty Peanut Butter Super Protein’ – winner of the ‘Best Protein and Sports Nutrition Product’ at the 2018 Nourish Awards! It’s made from peanut flour, plant protein, and chia powder, which results in a delicious, smooth, and creamy texture when added to smoothies.

To make one delicious smoothie simply blend the following ingredients:

  • 30g of Nutty Nutty Peanut Butter Super Protein

  • 250ml almond milk

  • ½ medium sized banana (approximately 60g)

  • 1 heaped tsp of flaxseed

  • 1 headed tsp of almond butter

  • 1 medjool date (stone removed) – for added sweetness

Simply serve in a glass, or if you are feeling fancy why don’t you make a smoothie bowl and decorate with your favourite toppings, e.g. fresh banana slices, cacao nibs, and chia seeds – yum!

We recommend enjoying this smoothie within the first hour after a workout – this is the time when your muscles have a greater focus on absorption, supporting muscle recovery and growth.
