Hazelnut truffle balls

This is the secret/not so secret recipe for our Hazelnut truffle balls. Here at Balance and Glo we are convinced that we have created something extra special. Are you a fan of those little chocolate balls covered in gold paper (they go by the name of Ferrero Rocher?) - well we are about to change your world! We have developed a healthier alternative, which we feel may even rival the original! (big claim I know).

During our retreat in November, our guests were taught how to make these in our foodie workshop - and its safe to say they were a big hit.

This recipe makes approximately 8 hazelnut truffle balls.

  • 120g Medjool dates (weight with stones removed)

  • 30g of Ground hazelnuts

  • 25g of Almond butter (we used Pip and Nut because it’s extra yummy!)

  • 10g of Cacao powder

  • 8 whole balanced almonds

  • 25g of chocolate melted (we used Ombar Coco Mylk Bar)

  • Chopped roasted hazelnuts to coat the balls

  1. Using a food processor blend the ground hazelnuts, medjool dates, almond butter and cacao powder until it forms a dough.

  2. Roll the mixture into eight evenly-sized balls and insert one blanched hazelnut into the centre of each ball

  3. Roll each ball in the chopped hazelnuts

  4. Dip half of each ball into the melted chocolate and sprinkle with extra chopped hazelnuts

  5. Place in the fridge to set to for at least 30 minutes

Sit back, relax, and enjoy!!!
